New SONEXvaluline™ baffle reduces installation time
Ilibruck's new SONEXvaluline™ baffles allow greater installation flexibility and significant reductions in installation time.

SONEXvaluline™ baffles feature corkscrew hangers, instead of the internal X frame.

You can install baffles the traditional way - hung from the ceiling - or by the new wall-to- wall cable system.

A cable is installed and acts like a clothesline for the baffles. Once the cable is mounted, installation is completed from one side of the room. Two corkscrew-shaped hangers are inserted into each baffle, slipped over the cable and pushed into place. Optional spacers can be inserted between the baffles.

There is no need to stop production or drain a swimming pool, and no need for lift trucks and scaffolding.

SONEXsuper™ Wedges

Designed to be used in situations where low-frequency issues are a problem, SONEXsuper Wedges are most often found in anechoic test chambers. These 12x12 wedges are 6 inches thick and feature an exaggerated, yet symmetrical, anechoic wedge pattern.

SONEXsuper Wedges can dramatically improve the accuracy of sound measurements by eliminating bounce-back sounds such as echo, feedback and resonances.

SONEXtrilayer™ System

SONEXtrilayer System is a new and innovative solution for acoustic test environments. Using a non-traditional approach, this system can provide more space inside the test room or allow larger test units to be analyzed. The SONEXtrilayer System features a combination of resonator, barrier and absorptive material layering to achieve the space savings of 28 to 48 percent over more commonly used acoustic treatments. Because this system needs less space for the same results, facilities may now be able to retrofit existing rooms into anechoic chambers or incur less construction costs for new chambers.

The absorptive layer of the SONEXtrilayer System can be made with different SONEX products - SONEXflat™ Panels, SONEXpyramid™ Panels or SONEXmax™ Wedges - and is constructed from illbruck's exclusive willtec® material. A protective mesh can be fastened over the top of the absorptive layer but this does not affect the performance of the system.

The unique assembly of the three layers of the system - resonator, barrier and absorptive - provides flexibility in cut-off frequencies and test standards used. illbruck's technical sales staff can assist with a complete solution - from facility design to final certification of the room.

Global customers using the SONEXtrilayer System include SONY (125 Hz cut-off frequency), Continental Brakes (50 Hz cut-off frequency) and Airbus (80 Hz cut-off frequency).

SONEXunilayer™ System

Traditional acoustic test facilities and anechoic chambers require the use of highly- absorptive acoustic products on the walls, ceilings and floors to achieve an echo-free environment. illbruck's SONEXunilayer System features SONEXsuper™ or SONEXmax™ Wedges and provides an effective sound control solution for any test environment with measurement according to ISO 3745 precision method. With the SONEXunilayer System, a cut-off frequency of 63 Hz or higher can be achieved with either SONEXsuper Wedges or SONEXmax Wedges.

SONEXsuper Wedges are 6" thick and have a symmetric pattern of peaks and valleys that efficiently trap the sound energy before it is reflected back into the room. (See photo to right.) When installed, these wedges are seamless in appearance and have an NRC of 1.10.

If a SONEXunilayer System with wedges thicker than 6" is required for a desired cut-off frequency, SONEXmax Wedges are the solution. (See photo to left shown in polyurethane foam.) illbruck's technical sales staff can assist with the determination of the exact thickness needed to achieve the desired level of performance for the test space. All SONEXmax Wedges are custom designed for each application but are very similar in appearance and function to the SONEXsuper Wedges.

Installation of the SONEXunilayer System is quick and easy. Both SONEXsuper and SONEXmax can be adhered with illbruck's AcouSTIC™ adhesive. Additional mechanical fasteners may be required depending on the application.

In addition to meeting all the acoustic requirements, the wedges made with illbruck's exclusive willtec® material meet Class 1 fire-rated building codes. Wedges produced with polyurethane foam are also an option. However, fire and building code issues will need to be resolved prior to installation.
